LONG-TERM RECOVERY PROGRAM
After completing the 28-Day Spiritual Bootcamp, men who are ready to continue their journey enter the Warriors Center Long-Term Recovery Program. This next phase is designed for those who want more than short-term change. It is a structured path toward lasting transformation through spiritual growth, personal responsibility, recovery work, and preparation for independent living.
The long-term program typically lasts 14 to 18 months, and every resident must complete at least one full year before he can graduate. During that time, he is challenged to grow in faith, character, discipline, knowledge, and leadership. The goal is not simply to help men stop destructive behavior. The goal is to help them become stable, spiritually grounded, productive men who are prepared to live with purpose.
As residents move through the program, they take on increasing responsibility, advance through clearly defined milestones, and begin developing the habits and skills needed for work, relationships, service, and long-term success.
A CLEAR PATH OF PROGRESS
The Warriors Center long-term program uses a military-style rank structure to create clear expectations, visible progress, and meaningful accountability. After Bootcamp, each resident begins as a Recruit and advances through the ranks from E-1 to E-9. Advancement is earned, not automatic, and residents may move up by no more than one rank every three weeks.
This structure helps men see that growth happens step by step. It reinforces discipline, consistency, and personal responsibility while giving staff a practical framework for measuring development over time.
To graduate, a resident must reach E-9 and complete at least one full year in the program. Graduation reflects sustained growth over time rather than short-term compliance.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ADVANCEMENT
Advancing through the ranks of the Warriors Center Long-Term Recovery Program requires steady growth in faith, character, discipline, and responsibility. Residents do not move forward automatically. Each promotion must be earned through consistent effort and visible progress over time.
To advance from Recruit through E-9, residents must complete Christian 12-step recovery work, Bible study, faith-based reading, life-skills courses, and community outreach. These requirements are designed to build a strong spiritual foundation while also developing the habits and maturity needed for long-term success.
The rank system helps ensure that progress is real, measurable, and sustained. It teaches men that transformation is not a one-time decision but a daily process of growth, obedience, and perseverance.
BATTLE VERSES
Scripture plays a central role in the Warriors Center recovery process. As residents advance through the ranks, they memorize specific passages of Scripture known as “Battle Verses.” These verses are chosen because they address the spiritual battles many men face during recovery, including temptation, discouragement, anger, and fear.
Each rank requires the memorization of five Battle Verses. By the time a resident reaches the highest rank of E-9, he will have memorized a total of fifty verses. These passages become tools that residents can rely on long after they leave the program, helping them respond to life’s challenges with faith and wisdom.
The goal is not simply memorization, but transformation. Residents learn to carry the truth of Scripture with them so that it shapes their thinking, strengthens their faith, and equips them to stand firm in difficult moments.
SPIRITUAL LEVELS OF GROWTH
Alongside the military-style rank system, residents also progress through a series of spiritual development levels that reflect their growth in faith and character. These levels help staff and residents measure not only behavioral change but genuine spiritual maturity.
Level 0 represents the beginning of the journey. Many residents enter the program without a strong spiritual foundation. During this stage they begin exploring faith, studying Scripture, and building the habits that support recovery and personal change.
Level 1 reflects the decision to accept Christ and begin pursuing a new direction in life. Residents start applying biblical principles to their daily choices and relationships.
Level 2 represents continued spiritual growth and increasing maturity. Residents deepen their understanding of Scripture and begin demonstrating consistency, discipline, and accountability in their daily lives.
Level 3 marks the stage of leadership. Residents at this level are expected to set an example for others, helping mentor newer men in the program and modeling the character and discipline that the Warriors Center seeks to build.
WORK, EDUCATION, AND JOB TRAINING
As residents grow in faith and responsibility, they also begin preparing for life beyond the program. The long-term phase of the Warriors Center experience includes practical training, educational opportunities, and real work experience designed to help men rebuild stability and confidence.
Educational opportunities begin early in the program. Residents who have not completed high school can begin working toward their GED as they advance through the ranks. As they progress, additional opportunities open for further education and training.
Some residents pursue Bible training through Kineo Ministry Training Center. Others may enroll in college courses through the Memphis College of Urban and Theological Studies (MCUTS), a program offered through Union University that allows students to work toward an associate’s or bachelor’s degree while continuing their recovery journey.
Work experience is also a key part of the program. Residents may serve in internal roles at the center, gain experience through the Warriors Center social enterprise Lion, or work contract jobs with local partner companies that often hire graduates full-time. These opportunities help residents build work history, confidence, and relationships that support a successful transition into independent life.
GRADUATION
Graduation from the Warriors Center Long-Term Recovery Program represents a significant milestone. Residents must reach the highest rank of E-9 and complete at least one full year in the program before they are eligible to graduate.
By the time a resident reaches graduation, he has completed months of recovery work, Bible study, spiritual mentoring, education, and job training. He has memorized Scripture, taken on leadership responsibilities within the community, and demonstrated the discipline and character required to sustain lasting change.
Graduation is not the end of the journey. It is the beginning of a new chapter. Many graduates move directly into employment opportunities, reconnect with family, pursue further education, or step into leadership roles within the community.
The goal of the Warriors Center program is not simply sobriety, but lasting transformation. Graduation represents the moment when a man is prepared to live with faith, responsibility, and purpose.
