Job Training & Workforce Development
Building discipline, developing skills, and preparing residents for real employment.
Work Is Part of the Transformation
A Working Ministry
Recovery at Warriors Center is not only about breaking destructive patterns. It is about building the habits, discipline, and responsibility required to live stable, productive lives.
That is why we call ourselves a working ministry. Residents learn to show up on time, complete real assignments, work alongside others, and take ownership of their responsibilities. These experiences restore confidence and prepare residents to succeed in the workplace after they graduate.
Through structured work inside the program, training initiatives, social enterprise, and partnerships with local employers, residents develop the skills and work ethic they need to move forward with purpose.
How Residents Work and Train
- Skilled trades with Lion Company
- Placements with local employer partners
- Event staffing at venues across the region
- Retail work in Warriors Center thrift stores
- Training through the If I Had a Hammer program
Lion Company by the Numbers

Skilled Trades
The Lion Company
Lion is Warriors Center’s customer-facing construction and skilled trades company. Operating as its own nonprofit, Lion provides real job training while delivering professional services to residential and commercial clients, including restaurants, retail locations, and large commercial properties locally and in other regions.
HVAC Electrical Plumbing Painting Sheetrock General Construction
Program graduates are employed on Lion’s crews, and current residents train alongside experienced workers, learning the expectations and discipline of professional job sites. HVAC certification training is conducted through Lion, giving participants a direct pathway to stable employment.
Lion crews also handle maintenance and repair across Warriors Center facilities, saving the ministry tens of thousands of dollars each year.
Partnerships With Local Employers
Real Jobs, Real Accountability
Residents also gain real-world experience through partnerships with local businesses while they are still in the program. They work alongside experienced teams, follow workplace expectations, and prove their reliability over time. The work is supervised directly by the companies themselves.
For businesses, these partnerships provide motivated workers committed to rebuilding their lives. Many relationships grow into long-term employment: when residents show a strong work ethic, companies often hire them after graduation.
Common Roles
- Warehouse work
- Facilities maintenance
- Office support
- Light industrial work
- Other operational roles where dependable workers are needed
