OPERATION BELIEVE MEMPHISA CAPITAL CAMPAIGN TO EXPAND RECOVERY IN MEMPHIS |
A VISION FOR MEMPHIS
Operation Believe Memphis is a multi-phase effort to expand Warriors Center’s capacity across Memphis and reach more men and women through long-term, structured recovery.
Last year, Warriors Center acquired two former nursing home facilities in Memphis: a 50,000 square foot property on James Road and a 75,000 square foot property on Walnut Grove.
These properties create a unique opportunity to significantly expand our reach and build a more complete recovery system in the city.
When fully developed, this initiative will create more than 400 recovery beds and allow us to serve hundreds more individuals each year.
This expansion will also allow Warriors Center to establish a dedicated women’s center in Memphis, meet a critical local need by expanding care for women with children, and create structured housing for program graduates as they transition into independent living.
WHERE WE ARE TODAY
We are currently focused on Phase I of Operation Believe Memphis: the renovation and restoration of the James Road property.
This is the first major step in expanding Warriors Center’s Memphis footprint and increasing long-term recovery capacity across the city.
By bringing this facility into full use, we can create the foundation for the broader Memphis expansion that follows.
PHASE I: THE JAMES ROAD PROPERTY
The James Road property is a 50,000 square foot former nursing home that Warriors Center acquired in Memphis last year.
Once restored, this facility will become the new home of our Memphis men’s center, relocating from our current Semmes location.
This move will allow us to more than double our capacity, increasing from 69 beds to approximately 150.
This is not a future concept. The property is already in place. The need now is renovation and restoration to bring it into full use.
THE FULL PLAN FOR MEMPHIS
Operation Believe Memphis is a multi-phase expansion that will significantly increase recovery capacity across the city.
Phase I: Restore the James Road property and relocate our Memphis men’s center from the current Semmes location, increasing capacity from 69 to approximately 150 beds. This transition will immediately allow us to open a new Memphis women’s center at the Semmes property.
Phase II: Renovate the Walnut Grove property to become the permanent home of the Memphis women’s center. At that time, the program will move from Semmes to Walnut Grove and expand to include the ability to serve women with children, with dedicated residential space designed for that purpose.
Phase III: Convert the Semmes location into a sober living facility to provide structured housing for program graduates as they transition into independent living.
Together, these phases will create more than 400 recovery beds across Memphis and establish a stronger, more complete pathway from recovery to long-term stability.
WHY THIS MATTERS NOW
The need for long-term, structured recovery in Memphis continues to grow, but space and facility limitations make it harder to meet that need at the level this moment requires.
James Road is not just another property. It is the next major step in expanding Warriors Center’s capacity, allowing us to serve more men and open a new women’s center in Memphis.
There are currently very few options in Memphis for women seeking recovery while caring for their children. Only a small number of ministries have the ability to accept women with children, and the number of available beds is extremely limited compared to the need.
Until additional capacity is created, many women are left without a viable path into long-term recovery. Completing the James Road project is a critical step toward opening the women’s center and ultimately expanding care for women with children.
WHAT THIS CAMPAIGN FUNDS
Phase I of Operation Believe Memphis is a focused effort to renovate and restore the James Road property so it can be brought into full use as the new home of our Memphis men’s center.
Your support will directly fund critical improvements needed to make this facility safe, functional, and ready to serve residents, including structural repairs, interior renovations, and essential infrastructure upgrades.
This is not a conceptual project. The property is already in place, and each dollar given moves the James Road facility closer to being fully operational.
The goal for Phase I is $250,000.
BE PART OF WHAT COMES NEXT
The James Road property is already in place. What happens next depends on how quickly we can bring it into full use.
Every dollar given moves this project forward and accelerates the expansion of recovery services across Memphis, including the ability to serve more men, open a new women’s center, and expand care for women with children.
This is the moment to act.
